The BMW AGMC “141^stOpen Championship “ Member & Guests Betterball Stableford was played over the Fire course saw one of the largest fields of the summer so far congregate at Jumeirah Golf Estates. A field totalling 42 teams witnessed some wonder golf over a testing course that was in superb condition and appreciated by all competitors.

The calibre of golf was very high with many teams scoring either forty points or above. Observing the Open Championship this week has certainly spurd the competitors to raise their games and with the introduction of varying tee locations, come the completion of the rounds, general scores/points were very respectable and all challenging for the lead.  It was the duo of Marc Edwards, partnered by Mark Cunningham that prevailed with a stunning tally of 45 stableford points. A sturdy back nine amassed 23 points, a truly winning performance by both players considering the majority of their round was played from the championship tees.

Taking the runner ups position for the second consecutive year was Travis Cowgill and Paul Sackley, complementing each other’s game they established a very consistent front and back nine scores to amass 44 points, only a single point from claiming first place. Jordan Davies and Mike Leighton combined well to take the final podium position of third place. Their total of 43 points was a fine effort indeed, sprinting home in an incredible 24 stableford points to graciously receive their prizes.
