Fireside
Superstructure works to Fireside continue to progress with all of the ground slabs now completed. Work to the ground floor columns is also progressing smoothly with only the last four plots to be completed. Overall structural works to the first 35 villas has now been finished. With the continued development of the structural works, Block work has now also been completed in the first 25 villas with continued work to the ground floor and second floors progressing in further villas.
The Façade works in the street is continually bringing the street scape together as roof tiling; random stone and cast stone works continue in the first phases. The development of the Façade combined with the boundary wall construction and maturing of the Fire course is beginning to show us glimpses of what the finished Fireside street will resemble.
Flame Tree Ridge:
Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing first fix work is ongoing throughout Flame Tree Ridge and the boundary walls in the first phase of the district are progressing well. With the introduction of the boundary walls, the specific views from each villa can now clearly be seen whether they offer vistas over the island green on the 17th hole of Earth, the 651 yard 18th hole of Earth or the 18th hole of the Fire course.
Structural works are continuing to progress well throughout the street, with 76 ground floor slabs now cast. As structural works to the Earth facing villas are nearing completion, the Fire course facing villas are not far behind. In addition to the continuing structural works, the Block work within the street is now nearing completion in 42 villas. The internal plaster works of the street are also progressing with 20% of the works now complete.
Whispering Pines:
As the road levels continue to be altered in the more complete areas of the first phase, the meandering and undulating levels illustrate just how impressive the finished product is going to be. As test commissioning is ongoing in the first 13 finished villas, the first 15 swimming pools have also been installed with excavation continuing further down the street. The swimming pools that are currently being stored on site will be ready for installation in the coming weeks.
The Façade works including cast stone installation, external plastering and painting are now complete on 32 villas with works continuing on an additional number of villas.
As in various other residential streets, the boundary wall construction is ongoing in both phase A and phase B of Whispering Pines, as are the first and second fix Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works. With Phase A of the street over looking the Fire course and the practice facility and Phase B overlooking the Earth course, you would be hard pushed to try and establish which views are more impressive, both are totally different, yet equally stunning!
Clubhouse:
Following the removal of the tower cranes from the Norman Clubhouse last month, the magnificent structure stands proud adjacent to the practice facility and the 18th greens of the Fire and Earth courses. Work continues to the pool terrace area which overlooks the 18th green of the Earth course. The roof slab to the plant room has been formed and is now ready for concreting. We expect to see significant progress over the next month to both the pool terrace area and the waterfall structure.
Wall and floor tiling to the back of house areas of the Clubhouse are continuing and screed works only remain in minor areas. The plaster works to the back of house areas and lower level of the Clubhouse are complete and the majority of the Main level and Upper level is also complete.
First fix Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works are steadily progressing on all levels of the Norman Clubhouse.
Tennis Academy:
The Tennis Academy is positioned between the Norman Clubhouse and the 9th green of the Earth course and although a few minor additions remain, the building has been in a close to completion state for several months. Further cast stone deliveries have now enabled the build of the main arch to the building, which upon completion will allow the installation of the main folding door. Following this, the façade will reach a stage even closer to completion.
Flooring works including terracotta tiles and cast stone pavers have been completed to the terrace viewing area, and the glass balustrade at the front of the terrace has also now been installed. The flood light poles have been erected and it shouldn’t be long before we see asphalt works commence to the two outdoor courts themselves. Fit-out works are progressing with the installation of joinery this month. The changing rooms inside the Academy are also very near completion.
European Tour Performance Institute
The European Tour Performance Institute, situated at the end of the practice facility now commands views over an extremely impressive driving range and a tiered tee off position which leads up to the Norman Clubhouse. Superstructure works to the building have continued to progress with the stripping of form work and the erection of column and beam form work. Concrete works have progressed in various areas of the structure.
